Formula 1 drivers will have to be at least 18 years old for the start of the 2016 season.

The new rule from governing body, the FIA, follows Toro Rosso's decision to hire 17-year-old Max Verstappen for this year's championship.

The Dutch youngster is the son of former F1 driver Jos Verstappen.
