Spain's Big Two put in five star performances in La Liga on Saturday night. Barcelona beat Mallorca 5 - 0 at the Nou Camp to move a step closer to the title.

With Lionel Messi recovering from a hamstring injury, Cesc Fabregas stepped up to the plate, netting a hat-trick while the much-maligned Alexis Sanchez grabbing a brace.

Coupled with third-placed Atletico Madrid's 1 - 1 draw with Champions League-chasing Valencia, Real Madrid tightened their hold on second place with a 5 - 1 home win over Levante at the Bernabeu.

Mesut Ozil scored two late goals to add to strikes from Gonzalo Higuain, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo after Valencia-based Levante opened the scoring.

Bayern Munich wrapped up their 23rd league title on Saturday after a 1 - 0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt cemented their 20 point lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

And it was a Bavarian native, Bastian Schweinsteiger who scored the clincher with an audacious backheeled goal.

The Dutch league is tight at the top with Ajax, PSV, Vitesse Arnhem and Feyenoord all in contention. But it is Ajax that have the advantage after a 4 - 0 win over Heracles kept them three points above PSV at the top of the table and closer to a third consecutive title.
