Manchester United have been charged by the Football Association with failing to control their players.

The charge is in relation to their reaction to Ander Herrera's red card in last night's FA Cup quarter final defeat to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the FA say they will be taking no further action against United defender Marcos Rojo for an alleged stamp on Eden Hazard due to referee Michael Oliver seeing the incident at the time.

The club has until Friday to respond to the charge.

In a statement, the FA confirmed: "Manchester United have been charged for failing to control their players.

"It follows an incident in the 35th minute of the Emirates FA Cup quarter final tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday [Monday 13 March 2017].

"The club have until 6pm on Friday 17 March 2017 to respond to the charge."

Recently the club's leading striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic accepted a three match ban from the FA after clashing with Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
