Everton's versatile left sided player Bryan Oviedo has had a successful operation on a double fracture to his left leg.

The Costa Rica international suffered the serious injury in Saturday's FA Cup win over Stevenage.

Oviedo has not given up hope of playing in the World Cup where he would line up against England in the group stage.
