Tim Howard has been ruled out of Everton's FA Cup quarter-final with Wigan this lunchtime after fracturing two bones in his back.

The goalkeeper sustained the injury in the fifth round replay with Oldham 11 days ago.

Manager David Moyes says the American could return to action in around four weeks, due to the bones affected being non-weight bearing.
