Jordan Pickford looks set for a quick return to the English top flight this season after it was reported that Everton have agreed a €34m deal in principle to take him from Sunderland.

Under David Moyes, Sunderland finished bottom of the Premier League last season and the Scot resigned from his position in the summer.

Ronald Koeman's Everton have now offered the young England goalkeeper a route back into the top-flight. The news will come as a blow to Joe Hart who was tipped to leave Manchester City on a permanent deal to join Everton.

The move will make Pickford Britain's most expensive goalkeeper and the third most expensive goalkeeper in history.

The England youth player made 29 top flight appearances last season. He's already had one senior call-up - where he was an unused substitute for last year's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.
