Sean Dyche's name has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial job at Everton after the sacking of Ronald Koeman, and it looks as though the Merseyside club may be ready to make their move to secure his signature.

Sky Sports have reported that Everton will make an approach for the Englishman this week, and possibly as soon as Tuesday.

Dyche was staying tight-lipped amid the rumours for his part, after seeing his side record a 1-0 win over Newcastle on Monday.

Ireland's Jeff Hendrick was on target with a late goal to seal a narrow win, capping a solid weekend for Martin O'Neill's men, after Shane Duffy starred at the heart of Brighton's defence

The match marked Dyche's fifth year in charge of Burnley, and speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, he was reluctant to directly address the possibility of getting a call from Everton in the coming days.

"We just keep getting on with it, that's my focus and it's my team's focus," Dyche responded. "I just keep getting on with my job, as simple as that."
