Even nine minutes injury time was not enough to separate Tottenham and Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon. Both sides went into the game knowing a win would lift them into second in the league table, but neither side could find the goal to ensure they took maximum advantage from the stumbling form of Liverpool and Chelsea.
Tottenham largely dominated the first half, with Robet Soldado coming closest for the visitors. Everton, however, were improved in the second half and could even have had a penalty as Seamus Coleman went down following a tackle from Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen.
