Welshman Jamie Donaldson hit the shot that sealed the deal for Europe and when asked this morning if their victory had sunk in, he replied: “No, ‘cos I’m still drunk.”
When asked about the celebrations, Donaldson told Sky Sports News: "It was a heavy one. All the guys got together. After a long week, we just had a great time. It was awesome team spirit all week.”
The Welshman’s performance on TV this morning didn’t go unnoticed, with people taking to social media to remark on the interview:

The 38-year-old was very complimentary about Paul McGinley’s performance as captain of the European team: “Paul was inspirational with the captaincy and at the end of the day we did enough to win and that was the most important thing.”
Donaldson also pointed out that Europe’s success and the ensuing celebrations were hard won: "There's so much goes into it. A lot of work has gone into a long week for us. There was two hours practice every day which I don't normally do. By the time the tournament starts, you're shattered already.”
