UEFA executive committee vice-president Giancarlo Abete has raised the possibility that Euro 2016 matches could be played behind closed doors.

His comments follow today's terrorist attacks in Brussels, which come just months after the Paris attacks in Euro 2016 host country France.

Former Italian FA president, Abete, says playing games behind closed doors remains an option.

"Euro 2016 is the kind of event we can't delay or postpone," he told Radio 24

"We can't exclude the possibility of playing behind closed doors as we cannot exclude terrorism."

Paris' Stade de France was targeted by suicide bombers during the November attacks and in March, UEFA suggested they were prepared to move venues or host games behind closed doors.
