Arsenal have moved seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with a convincing 3-0 win over Cardiff, at the Cardiff city Stadium.
Aaron Ramsey was the centre of attention before the game as he made only his second return to Cardiff as an Arsenal player, and this time as the star man of Arsene Wenger’s title race leading side. Ramsey - who came up through the ranks of the Cardiff academy before joining Arsenal at 17 years of age for £4.8 million - ensured that focus remained on him throughout the game as he scored two of the Gunners’ three goals.
Ramsey opened the scoring with a header in the 29th minute and again just before the end of the game, to make it 16 goals for club and country this season. Mathieu Flamini scored Arsenal’s second.
Everton moved up to fourth with a 4-0 win over Stoke at Goodison Park. Seamus Coleman was amongst the scorer’s for the Toffees, with Oviedo, Lukaku and Deulofeu scoring the others.
Norwich were 1-0 winners over Crystal Palace, consigning Tony Pulis to defeat in his first game in charge. Gary Hooper was the scorer of the game’s only goal.
West Ham beat Fulham 3-0 at Upton Park to further heap the pressure on Martin Jol, with the defeat raising a fresh round of questions about his future at Craven Cottage.
Diame, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole were the three scorers for the Hammers.
The final game of the day was a 0-0 draw between Aston Villa and Sunderland, at Villa Park.
Newcastle host West Brom in the day’s late kick off. That game is at St James’s Park and kicks off at 5.30.
