Fulham claimed a hugely important win this afternoon, taking 3 points in their bid to escape relegation. They beat Newcastle 1-0 at Craven Cottage as Ashkan Dejagah scored the all-important goal.

Southampton beat Norwich 4-2 at St. Marys this afternoon.

Southampton's goals came from Morgan Schneiderlin, Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez and Sam Gallagher, with Norwich's goals coming from Johan Elmander and Robert Snodgrass.

Stoke City beat West Ham 3-1 at the Britannia Stadium.

Andy Carroll scored for West Ham, but two strikes from Peter Odemwingie and another from Marko Arnautovic gave Stoke the 3 points.

Struggling West Brom beat Swansea 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Roland Lamah put the Welsh side ahead, but goals from Stephane Sessegnon and Youssuf Mulumbu have given the away side an important 3 points.

It finished scoreless between Sunderland and Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light.

Earlier, Manchester City moved to within six points of leaders Chelsea with a 2-nil win over Hull City at the KC Stadium in the opening Premier League game of the day.

City's goals came from David Silva, with a stunning effort from outside the box after 13 minutes, and Edin Dzeko late on.

That win came despite City being down to 10 men for over 80 minutes, after captain Vincent Kompany was given a straight red card for taking down Nikica Jelavic as the last man back after 10 minutes.
