Eoin Reddan says the mood and intensity has gone up in the Ireland camp ahead of the start of the World Cup.

The scrum-half says that the level of attention to detail has been upped once again in training this week ahead of Saturday's Pool D opener against Canada in Cardiff.

Reddan says that, although the players have been working hard througout the pre-season and the warm-up series, there is something different about the camp in the last few days.

"People would be very switched on anyway for all those games but there's just a bit more of a ruthlessness with each other on the pitch and whereas maybe last week if the guy you were playing with, there might have been less pressure on each other. The pressure from coaches was there all the time. I think this week guys are putting pressure on each other again which is quite normal for us and it's good to see it back," he said.
