England's Joe Marler has apologised to Wales counterpart Samson Lee for calling him a "gypsy boy".
The altercation occurred in yesterday's Six Nations match between the two sides.
But England prop Marler could now face a four-week ban as a result with tournament organisers investigating the incident.
"Joe spoke to Samson at half-time to apologise and he was reminded by Eddie Jones of his responsibilities as an England player after the game," said the English Rugby Football Union in a statement.
England have claimed the 2016 Six Nations title as a result of Scotland's win over France today, and they could win their first Grand Slam since 2003 if they beat the French in Paris next weekend.
