Former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan believes the point difference against Italy could come back to bite us.

The Six Nations opener saw Joe Schmidt's side score two tries in a 26-3 win.

Eddie was on Off The Ball tonight, alongside Trevor Hogan and shared his concerns on the points issue.

"After you win, it's easy to gloss over mistakes, but I thought we lacked a bit of accuracy at times," said Eddie, who also looked ahead to the France match.

"The problem with the result, in a sense - and there's nothing wrong with the result - is that Italy have a tendency to fall off the chart as the Six Nations go on, so you could see England, Wales or France doing a number on them, and if it comes down to point difference like last year [it could make a difference in the championship]. I'm not sure that points difference is enough if England, Wales or France do a number on them."

Eddie felt the best game of the weekend in terms of intensity was England's comeback win over Wales, and believes that Stuart Lancaster's side now "look like a side on a mission".

Trevor and Eddie were impressed by humility, options and performances that England have been showing under Lancaster.

But Trevor believes that lack of ideas from the Welsh does not make head coach Warren Gatland look good, while Eddie felt England suffocated their game-plan.
