Actor Khali Best who plays Dexter Hartman on the BBC show was suspended 'for bad behaviour' but no other details were given at the time.
It has now come to light that he had an altercation with a taxi driver and that was the reason behind the ban.
"Khali Best has been suspended from EastEnders for three months. We will not comment any further on this matter," said a spokesman back in May.
The taxi driver told The Sun newspaper that he gave Best a lift. Best asked to be dropped at a cash machine as he had no money and the taxi driver said he could use his card in the machine in his taxi to pay.
“He said ‘No, no, no’ and started kicking the car door. I got round to stop him doing it and he managed to open the door and thumped me.
"I was bleeding. He gave me a black eye and broke my glasses”.
According to reports, Best accepted a police caution for common assault and criminal damage following the incident.
