Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has confirmed reports that he has been denied entry into the US because of an Iranian stamp on his passport.
He picked it up when playing in a charity match in Tehran in 2015.
Ex-Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys had highlighted the news earlier, adding the hashtag #crazy to share his own frustrations.

Keys took to Twitter, referencing the overturned travel ban that the Trump administration had attempted to implement on citizens from seven Muslim majority countries including Iran: "Well done @realDonaldTrump. Man U ambassador Dwight Yorke denied transit access to Miami cause he has Iranian stamp in passport. #crazy"
Sky News reporter Kaveh Solkehol later revealed that Yorke had confirmed that he had been, as reported, denied entry to the United States:

Ex-Aston Villa striker, Yorke spent four years at Manchester United between 1998 and 2002, in which time the Trinidad and Tobago native played an integral role in helping the club to a famous Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble in 1999.
He formed a renowned strike partnership with Andy Cole and also played at the 2006 World Cup with Trinidad.
