Dublin's Jason Whelan has received an eight week suspension for an incident in their O'Byrne Cup game against DCU earlier this month.

The Leinster Council have imposed the ban for "inflicting injury recklessly".

The suspension was imposed in accordance with Rule 7.2 Category III (vii).

The player and the Dublin County Board have accepted the sanction for the incident which occurred on January 12th 2014.
