One of the last true dual stars in Gaelic Games has retired from the inter-county game.
Dublin's Conal Keaney, fresh off winning the All-Ireland Club Football Championship with Ballyboden-St. Enda's last month has revealed he is to step back from playing with Dublin's hurlers.
Speaking to The Herald, Keaney revealed that family and business interests made the decision easier to step away from Ger Cunningham's side. "I’ve two young kids and I’m never really at home. I’m self-employed, I’m only after opening another new business, so time-wise it’s hard to juggle it all. And with the commitment you need for inter-county, you need to be giving it 100%."

The 33-year-old revealed the news on Friday morning on Twitter. He finishes his time with Dublin hurlers with one Leinster title and a National Hurling League triumph.

Keaney's football career with Dublin was even more successful than his time in blue with Dublin's hurlers. The 33-year-old won five Leinster titles in a row between 2005 and 2009 and an Under-21 All-Ireland in 2003.
