20 years on from their last league title, Dublin battled past Tyrone to become Division 1 champions.

The Dubs prevailed 0-18 to 0-17 in a tight but exciting encounter at Croke Park.

Tyrone suffered an early blow when marksman and captain Stephen O'Neill injured his ankle in the warm up but with Sean Cavanagh in good form, they stayed in the battle with the eventual winners.

With Bernard Brogan scoring 0-4 and Cavangh pointing 0-3, the two sides went in to the break on level footing of 0-10 apiece.

The second half continued to be a tight affair with both sides exchanging points.

But Dublin pipped their Ulster opponents in the closing stages thanks to late points from Dean Rock and Jack McCaffrey.
