Leinster was the site of the two major shocks in the day’s GAA club action, with two of the country’s major hurling powers falling at the semi-final stage of the Leinster championship. Dublin champions Ballyboden St. Enda’s went out at the hands of Carlow’s Mount Leinster Rangers – by a score of 1-17 to 3-9 – and Kilcormac-Killoughley, last year’s All-Ireland runner up and Leinster champions, fell to Wexford’s Oulart the Ballagh, losing 1-18 to 2-11 in Tullamore.
In the football, recently crowned Clare champions Cratloe (crowned just 24 hours ago, in fact) have won the Munster semi-final against Waterford’s Ballinacourty by 1-10 to 0-11.
In Leinster football, Portlaosie beat Longford Slashers by 1-15 to 3-7, after extra time in Pearse Park.
In Ulster, Donegal’s Glenswilly advance to the Ulster final with a 3-9 to 2-8 win over Fermanagh side Roslea, while Ballinderry of Armagh emerged victorious from an ill tempered affair with Kilcoo of Down, winning 1-10 to 0-09.
In Munster hurling action Sixmilebridge of Calre beat Cork’s Midleton 1-17 to 1-13 at Pairc Ui Caoimh.
