Olympic champion Usain Bolt has withdrawn from next month's Diamond League races in Paris and Lausanne because of a pelvic injury.

It is likely to cast further doubt on his ability to defend his 100m and 200m titles at the World Championships in August, which will take place in Beijing - the scene of his first Olympic golds.

The 28-year-old, who withdrew from last week's Jamaican nationals at the 11th hour, says he is "unable to compete at 100 per cent" because the injury restricts his movement.

America's Justin Gatlin is the favourite to win double gold in Beijing, having set the fastest times at 100 and 200 metre level this year.
