Donegal have backed manager Rory Gallagher by awarding a new three-year tenure in charge of the county's senior footballers.

Despite this year's All Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin and the Ulster final loss to Tyrone, tonight's county board meeting ratified in his new term.

Club delegates voted unanimously to re-appoint ex-assistant manager Gallagher, who succeeded Jim McGuinness in October 2014, for a further three years, with the option of an extra year.
