The director was part of a presentation at the International CES tradeshow, promoting a new TV for Samsung.

When the teleprompter stopped working, Michael abandoned the stage in the middle of the live show – something he now admits was highly embarrassing.

"Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES," the Transformers director said in a post on his website. "I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down -- then I walked off. I guess live shows aren't my thing. But I’m doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be travelling around the world."

Michael was initially brought up on stage with Transformers footage playing. He started off his speech by saying his job as a director meant he got to dream for a living, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

Samsung EVP Joe Stinziano carried on the presentation after Michael left, joking about the fact the Hollywood action guru unceremoniously left the stage when he had only uttered a few sentences.

"Welcome to Vegas. It's live shows, folks," Joe said.
