On Sunday night, USA soccer team got their revenge on Japan four years to claim the Women's World Cup trophy.

But it wasn't just the onfield success which really impressed, but the great deal of interest it garnered in the media Stateside.

"It was bigger than last year's World Cup final. It was the most watched soccer game in US history - Men's or Women's, most watched single broadcast and most watched overall number. This is something people are happy and excited about," he said.

Stahl also spoke to us about just how beloved the USWNT are in their home country and how they developed into a team that can bridge a 16 year gap between World Cup victories.
