It's been a fairytale time for Mount Leinster Rangers as they became the first Carlow club to get their hands on a Leinster Club Hurling Championship.
Sunday's Man of the Match Denis Murphy was still coming to terms with making history when Joe and Gizzy caught up with him.
Murphy who scored 0-8 felt this year's triumph had it's roots in last year's endeavors.
"Last year we played Kilcormac Killoughey in our first round of the Leinster championship and they beat us by four points. We felt we under-performed on the day. We wanted to improve a bit but our first aim was to win the Carlow Championship. We were lucky enough to get through it and after that we wanted to give Leinster one hell of a crack," said Murphy.
It is also a testament to their dominance in Carlow where they have won six of the last eight senior championships and also took an All Ireland Intermediate Championship.
But Sunday's Leinster final saw Mount Leinster down by two points at half-time. However, Murphy and co maintained the belief heading into the final 35 minutes.
"At half-time we just wanted to be in the game whether it's a point or two up or two down. We hadn't played too well but we were only two points down. We were well in that game and we felt we could drive on if we could be within a point with 10 minutes to go. We were lucky that's how it panned out."
