Dele Alli's season may be over after the Tottenham player was seen by television cameras punching West Brom's Claudio Yacob in the stomach on Monday night.

The PFA Young Player of the Year's punch was not seen by referee Mike Jones, but Alli is expected to be charged by the FA.

If Alli is charged, he may miss Tottenham's final three games of the season against Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle. Mauricio Pochettino's side must earn at least seven points from those three games to have any chance of overtaking leaders Leicester.

Alli joined Tottenham in January 2015 from MK Dons, but stayed with the Championship club for the rest of last season. In his debut season in the Premier League, the 20-year-old has become one of the stars in the English top-tier.

He has ten goals in 33 Premier League games. Alli also made his England debut October last year and scored his first goal the following month against France.

Alli is expected to feature heavily for England in Euro 2016. Manager Roy Hodgson may be hoping Alli is given an enforced rest ahead of the trip to France.
