The beloved TV comedienne is hosting the 86th Annual Academy Awards March 2 and released a video Monday thanking the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for choosing her to emcee.

Mocking how frequently actors are cut off by music mid-acceptance speech, Ellen is reminded to wrap it up only three seconds in.

"It's an honour for me to host the second time," she says, rushing through her words in the 15-second clip before an announcer completely cuts her off.

The video is the latest in a string of Oscar promos for the talk show host's upcoming gig.

Ellen previously received an Emmy nomination for hosting the awards show back in 2007.

She follows in the footsteps of legendary Academy Award presenters including Billy Crystal, Jon Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, James Franco and Anne Hathaway.

She was reportedly chosen after last year's host, Seth MacFarlane, turned down the opportunity due to scheduling conflicts.

"I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time. You know what they say - the third time's the charm," she joked in a press release while making the announcement in August.

Oscar executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron meanwhile said they were "thrilled" to have Ellen on board.

"As a longtime friend, we had always hoped to find a project for us to do together, and nothing could be more exciting than teaming up to do the Oscars," they said in a joint statement.

"There are few stars today who have Ellen's gift for comedy, with her great warmth and humanity. She is beloved everywhere, and we expect that the audience at the Dolby Theater, and in homes around the globe, will be as excited by this news as we are."
