Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe will reportedly join Toronto FC in January.

The MLS club will smash their wages record, awarding the striker over €100,000 a week - including bonuses - according to the Daily Mirror.

The 31-year-old has yet to score in the Premier League this season as an understudy to Roberto Soldado, although he has been prolific in the Europa League.

If the move materializes, Defoe would be reunited with former Spurs team-mate Ryan Nelsen who is the current Toronto manager.
