Ireland defender Darren O'Dea is set for a move to Ukraine.
His current club Toronto FC of the MLS have confirmed that he is close to a move.
Manager Ryan Nelsen said: “He got a contract from Ukraine and it was one he couldn’t turn down. He wanted to go. It was a good opportunity for him.”
The former Celtic man will join an un-named club in the Ukrainian Premier League.
He is currently captain of Toronto FC but his contract was not renewed due to his high salary.
He is one of the highest paid non-designated players in the MLS. He earns $456,250 per year and because of his non-designated status, Toronto had to foot the bill.
