Ireland's Dan Martin has claimed a podium finish at the prestigious Flèche Wallonne one-day race in Belgium.

Spain's Alejandro Valverde took the race win, with Martin finishing in third place.

Martin finished in third place behind his Etixx-QuickStep team-mate Julian Alaphilippe in a time of 4 hours 43 minutes and 57 minutes.

Martin was the only Irish rider in the 162-strong peloton.
