As the Open de Espana continues this weekend near Barcelona, Damien McGrane spoke to Off the Ball this afternoon to discuss his disqualification yesterday afternoon.

The Meath native was on course to miss his fifth European Tour cut in a row this season when he walked of the course late in his second round.

Speaking about his disqualification, McGrane said that he simply "had enough" and said it was the first time he picked up his ball mid round.

He spoke about how his playing partners Andrew Johnson and Gonzalo Gancedo Onieva were also due to miss the cut which did not help his situation or motivation.

He called the situation for himself and his playing partners as "an unusual round to be making up the numbers".

"Every week is a brand new opportunity" according to the World Number 468 and he spoke about starting off on a level playing field with everyone else for his next tournament.

"Its difficult at the moment" according to McGrane about his season so far, but he says once he overcomes ligament issues he is sure of returning to form.
