Former Ireland international Damien Duff has joined League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers in a coaching capacity until the end of the season.

Duff joins the first team as a coach and will assist interim manager Stephen Bradley during his time with the club.

The 37-year-old, who won 100 caps for Ireland, has previously appeared for Rovers as a player in 2015, making nine appearances for the club.

"Damien has been in with us the last few weeks," said Bradley. "He’s in coaching with myself, Stephen McPhail and Glenn Cronin, so it’s a good mix.

"I’ve obviously known Damien since he came in as a player. He’s with the youths so I kept in contact with him and I just like his ideas on the game, he’s been great.

“Damien would have very high standards, he’d call it as he sees it. It’s good to have that, it’s good to bounce off what he did in his own clubs and what we can implement in our training."

Duff is also coaching Ireland’s U15s side.
