Much of Barcelona's recent success has its roots in the developments he made at the club by Dutch legend Johan Cruyff.
But the Catalan club's fans might not take too kindly to comments he made in Spanish sports daily Marca.
The former Barca and Ajax icon said that if he was in charge at the Camp Nou he would consider selling Lionel Messi after Brazilian starlet Neymar's purchase.
Cruyff pointed out that Messi and Neymar might not work well as a pairing:
"Neymar's arrival could cause problems. Just look at free kicks for example. Neymar is very good at taking them. And Messi has already shown he is great, too. Who is going to take them?" he said.
"Or the fact that Neymar and Barcelona are with Nike while Leo is with Adidas. These are situations that could cause problems."
But he did point out that he would not have sanctioned a move for Neymar in the first place.
