A few weeks ago we reported on a call for extras to appear in the History Channel TV series Vikings, which films in Ireland.
The response online was massive, with thousands from across the world declaring their intention to get in on the act as over 8,000 extras spots had to be filled for filming later this year.
If the scenes in Dublin today are anything to go on then it looks like that sentiment has carried through, as Temple Bar was this afternoon thronged with massive queues of people waiting for their chance to apply to be an extra in Vikings.
There's another casting session tomorrow, April 1, at Filmbase in Temple Bar, and again on April 7 at the Grand Hotel on Abbey Street in Wicklow Town.
