League one side Coventry have gone into liquidation.

Creditors ACL, who run the Ricoh Arena, have rejected a Company Voluntary Arrangement which would have brought them out of administration. 

The club will meet the Football League this afternoon, who could impose a hefty points penalty. The penalty may amount to 15 points.

The Blues are due to face Crawley Town tomorrow in their opening league game and the match is expected to go ahead. 

Ireland goalkeeper Joe Murphy is currently on the books of the side.
