Cork's Colm O'Neill believes their place in Division 1 of the Allianz Football League, is by no means safe despite picking a second win in succession against Down yesterday.

The 0-12 0-07 victory helps counteract three defeats from earlier in the campaign and leaves the Munster side just one point from securing safety as they sit two points clear of Mayo and Down.

They face Kerry in Tralee in their final encounter next Sunday but O'Neill is counting on getting a result there.

"They put it up to us for the majority of the game but we knew we had to get two points to ensure safety," he said of the Ulster county.

"Having said that, we're not 100% safe. Things can happen between now and then. But look, all we could do is come down and focus on getting the two points. It wasn't the prettiest to watch but we're delighted with the result and we're looking forward now to going down to Tralee or Killarney next week."
