Both Cork and Clare are unhappy with the late throw-in announced by the GAA for their All Ireland hurling final replay.

The CCCC decided after consultation with the Gardai to start the game at 5pm on Saturday evening the 28th of September.

Clare chairman Michael McDonagh confirmed the The Examiner that they had contacted Croke Park to express their concerns.

"We have made a request the game be completed in daylight hours. It's unfair to our players and supporters and we believe four o'clock would be the latest acceptable throw-in time. We have to think of the people travelling to the game and going home afterwards. There’s also a massive cost put on people to come to Dublin and they can't all afford to stay up on the dearest night in Dublin for hotel rooms."

Cork PRO Tracey Kennedy admitted it was unlikely the timing would be changed.

"We would have preferred an earlier throw-in and we understand Clare feel the same. But it comes down to the Gardaí in the end so not much can be done about it now. There is an issue for players hanging around until five o'clock and coming up on the morning of a game when you have a three hour drive is not satisfactory."
