Wexford made it three Bord Gais Energy Leinster Under 21 Hurling titles in a row last night after defeating Kilkenny in a one sided final in Wexford Park.

It was an outstanding 17 point victory for Wexford, with Conor McDonald scoring 1-10, with 0-7 from frees in the 4-17 to 1-9 win. It is only the second time Wexford have one three provincial titles in a row at the age grade and comes less than a week after the senior side exited the championships.

McDonald, who was the games top scorer spoke to Newstalk Sport's Oisin Langan after the game. He told Oisin that the team was "a very special group to cap off the three in a row".

The win lifts the doom and gloom in Wexford after the senior team lost to Cork at the weekend and that was something that was something that was important  to the team according to McDonald.
