Tiernan O'Halloran has revealed that Connacht's slick performance in the backlines during their try-fest against Treviso yesterday was the result of specific hard work in the area during training.

The Westerners ran in seven tries in a 53-5 Guinness PRO12 defeat of the Italians at the Sportsground.

O'Halloran opened the spree, and admitted to Galway Bay FM's Rob Murphy afterwards: "It's definitely something we've been working on. Maybe in the past we've kind of been relying on the 10 to pulls the strings all the time, so we've really had to stand up this year.

"It's something we've been working on through the backs - bossing the forwards around a little bit. It's really coming together now and looking good on the pitch, so hopefully we can keep that going."

It was the Galway man's first start of the season following impressive cameos from the bench, and he said that he was "delighted to get back in the team".

Hopefully it all goes some way to making up for Messi's misses last week - presuming this is Tiernan's actual betslip!
