For just the second time in 42 matches, Connacht managed to emerge victorious over Munster and Eddie O'Sullivan felt their achievement came because they "weathered the storm".

Speaking to Off The Ball tonight, Eddie felt Munster might have suffered a touch of complacency after building an early advantage.

"At the end of the night there was no doubt about it. The better team won. They had three tries to one. If the match went on another hour, you couldn't see any way back for Munster," he said of Connacht.

But can they manage victories like this on a consistent basis?

"I think it's the start of something, the foundations of which were set probably three or four years ago," said Eddie, highlighting the role of Eric Elwood in terms of putting pressure on the IRFU over budgets and praising head coach Pat Lam's investment in players.

"Connacht are now a team to be reckoned with. [Beating Munster] was a surprise but not a shock," said Eddie, who also heaped praise on Ireland and Connacht centre Robbie Henshaw.
