Seamus Coleman says Everton can build on back-to-back victories against Newcastle and Dynamo Kiev when they take on the Ukrainians tonight as the Toffees close in on the last eight of the Europa League.

The Blues go into the last-16 second leg in Kiev's Olympic Stadium as Britain's only remaining side in Europe and with a 2-1 advantage following last week’s Goodison Park showdown.

And while Donegalman Coleman has high regard for the eastern Europeans, he's still stuck on the Toffees' target of Europa League glory.

"We were very impressed with Dynamo when they came to Goodison," admitted Coleman. "We knew it was going to be a tough game and they got the first goal, which made it harder.

"They have some very dangerous players, people like [Andriy] Yarmolenko, but we are going into the game confident and hopeful of going through to the next round.

"We played very hard all last season to get a chance to be involved in this competition and as soon as we got into it our goal was to win it.

"We have done well so far and it would be great to get to the next stage. That would be something we would be proud of because we are looking to do really well in this competition."

Darron Gibson returned to join goal-scoring James McCarthy and Coleman in Everton's XI that beat Newcastle 3-0 on Saturday.

Coleman says the results have been a big fillip. "It has been brilliant for the squad getting two good results back to back," he added. "Keeping a clean sheet and recording a convincing win was important on Sunday.

"We've got a good bunch of lads and a lot of experienced players so the dressing room has never got too down, we have just kept going and doing the right things.

"But thankfully form has picked up and we are confident that can continue between now and the end of the season."
