Midleton have been crowned Cork Senior Hurling Champions following a 2-15 to 2-13 win over Sarsfields at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Midleton’s Conor Lehane was the undoubted star of the day, scoring 2-10, with an incredible 2-08 of that from play.

In Clare the senior semi-final ended with Newmarket-on-Fergus 0-15 to 1-07 winners over Ballyea at Cusack Park.

In the Leinster hurling championship quarter finals the Kilkenny champions Clara went down to a 3 point defeat. Oulart the Ballagh of Wexford were 0-20 to 2-11 winners at Nowlan Park.

Elsewhere Mount Leinster rangers of Carlow defeated Westmeath’s Castletown Geoghegan by 1-15 to 1-13.

Kilcormac/Kiloughley were the winners of the third quarter final of the day, easily defeating Camross of Laois by a score of 1-18 to 1-10 at O’Moore Park in Portlaoise.
