England's World Cup preparations have taken another blow as it has been revealed the fly half Danny Cipriani was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning on suspicion of drink driving, following a crash in London

The arrest came hours after the Sale Sharks player played a starring role in an England XV's victory over the Barbarians in Twickenham on Sunday afternoon. He scored 33 points including two tries in the 73-12 win.

Cipriani only returned to the England's Six Nations squad in recent months following a seven year absence from the competition.

The news, will come as another blow to England head coach Stuart Lancaster. He has already lost two players from his World Cup plans due to disciplinary issues.

Northampton hooker Dylan Hartley was omitted from the World Cup training squad last week after receiving a four match ban for a headbutt during his sides Premiership semi-final defeat.

Leicester centre Manu Tuilagi will also miss out on Autumn's showpiece after he was convicted of assaulting two female police officers and a taxi driver.
