St Patricks Athletic's Chris Forrester has been handed the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month for April.
It is the second time that Forrester has claimed the monthly award.
After scoring five goals during the past month, Forrester topped the voting among the members of the SWAI.
"I’m happy to win it. It was a good month for me, obviously topped off with probably the best goal I’ve ever scored," admitted Forrester.
"Not only do I deserve it, but I think many of my team-mates do as well. There were several candidates in the team. I’m happy that their hard work paid off for me. I think I won it the last time in April as well, two years ago. So I think April is a good month for me. I think it must be all the Easter eggs around that period."
Forrester's achievement means he becomes just the fourth St Pat’s player to have won the prestigious award more than once, joining an exclusive list of club legends such as Trevor Molloy, Damien Byrne, and Mark Ennis.
