Chelsea will find themselves up against a former fans' favourite tonight as Jose Mourinho's side travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland in their League Cup quarter-final.

Sunderland are now managed by former Blues midfielder Gustavo Poyet, who has been tasked with helping the club to escape relegation after a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign.

Mourinho is likely to make a number of changes as he prepares his side for Monday's League game against Arsenal.

Full-back Branislav Ivanovic is definitely out as he serves a suspension.

In tonight's other quarter-final, Man City are also expected to rotate their stellar squad as they visit Championship side Leicester City.

Stevan Jovetic could get a chance to impress for City in the absence of Sergio Aguero, who has been ruled-out for up to a month with a calf strain.

Jovetic signed for approximately €25 million in the summer has been hampered by injuries since his arrival. His ability to pull wide, drop deep and lead the line makes him an interesting alternative to the injured Aguero.

Edin Dzeko is likely to start up front with Alvaro Negredo given a rest.

Both games will kick-off at 7.45.
