Carl Frampton is to make his debut in Las Vegas on January 28th.

The Belfast star is to fight Leo Santa Cruz as he defends his WBA (Super) Featherweight title for the first time. Frampton defeated the Mexican in New York earlier this year.

July's fight, was a contender for be be 2016's Fight of the Year. Frampton went into the bout as an underdog, but a tactical approach saw him win my majority decision. Two judges gave 'The Jackal' the win, with a third calling the fight as a draw.

"This is one of the biggest fights in world boxing," Frampton admitted, when the fight was announced. "Our first fight in July was a war and I believe that January 28th will be exactly the same."

"It’s a dream come true for me to be headlining in Las Vegas, where some of the biggest fights of all time have taken place. I’ve learnt a lot from our first fight, Leo is a warrior but I’m going to win even more convincingly the second time around."

July's fight was the first loss of Santa Cruz's 34-fight career, Frampton remains unbeaten in 23 bouts. If Frampton was to lose in January, a deciding fight were certainly be in the offing. If the rematch, is any bit as good as the first fight, it will be a sensational night in the MGM Grand.
