Prosecutors in Brazil have called for the “immediate” halt to construction at the World Cup stadium in Brazil where a man died following a fall yesterday.

The 22 year old died after he fell 115 feet and public prosecutors in Brazil are now calling for the halt of all work at the stadium that requires labourers to work at a height.

The prosecutors said the conditions at the stadium were “unacceptably dangerous” and work should be halted until all necessary safety measures are in place.

The death is the fifth in the course of construction of stadiums for next summer’s World Cup and the third at a World Cup venue in under a month.

England are scheduled to play Italy at the stadium, in the northern city of Manaus, in their opening group game.
