Busta Rhymes in Rugrats

Ìf you were born in the late 80s or early 90s, chances are you caught up with the adventures of Tommy, Chuckiem Phil and Lil every day after school (we also saw the movie twice and went to the live show when it came to The Point, but whatevs).

If you watched you might remember Reptar, one of the fictional characters of the babies' imaginations. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was the Mickey Mouse of the Rugrats universe, appearing on breakfast cereals and toys, in his very own TV show and even "came to life" in the Rugrats movie when Tommy's dad built a robot in his likeness.

Here's the weird bit: he was voiced by Busta Rhymes, the Brooklyn-born rapper behind songs like "In The Ghetto" and "Flip Mode Squad".

Try as we might we can't find out how he got the gig.

Vin Diesel in The Iron Giant

Alright, this one makes much more sense. Diesal is no stranger to playing tough guys in the Fast and Furious franchise and xXx, so we imagine he was perfect for the role of this giant iron robot.

Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

James Avery was forever typecast as the strict parental figure after he rose to fame as Will Smith's rich uncle in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air...or so we thought. Shockingly, Avery also had a pretty solid gig as bad guy Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unfortunately, we doubt he'll be playing him in the upcoming live action version.

It suddenly becomes glaringly obvious when you watch this video:

Ellen in Finding Nemo

We loved Finding Nemo, and couldn't believe when we found out that Ellen DeGeneres did the voice of the hilarious Dory, the fish with the incredibly short term memory.

The good news is that she'll be back to play the famous fish for the the upcoming 2015 sequel Finding Dory.

CooOOOOooooMMMeeee bAAAAaaaaAAAck...

Howie Mandel in The Gremlins

Unless you're familiar with the American stand-up comedy scene you'll probably recognise Mandel from being a judge on America's Got Talent. Well Mendel also played Gizmo in 80s classic The Gremlins.
