Bruce Arena has been appointed United States head coach for a second time.
He leaves his role as manager of MLS side LA Galaxy to succeed Jurgen Klinsmann, who was sacked on Monday.
A poor start to the final stage of 2018 World Cup qualifying in CONCACAF had made Klinsmann's position untenable.
The USA, who he led to the last-16 at the last World Cup, lost 2-1 to Mexico an 4-0 to Costa Rica in their opening matches.

Arena previously coached the USA senior side between 1998 and 2006, having made the step up from managing the under-23 national team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

Under his management of the senior side, USA made a surprise run to the World Cup quarter-finals in Korea and Japan in 2002, beating Portugal 3-2 in their opening match and defeating Mexico 2-0 in the last-16.
They were then knocked out by eventual runners-up Germany with a semi-final place at stake.
However, they finished bottom of a Group E featuring Italy, Ghana and Czech Republic at the 2006 World Cup.
The three-time MLS coach of the year (1997, 2009, 2011) also led USA to CONCACAF Gold Cup glory in 2002 and 2005.
After leaving international management, he coached New York Red Bulls for a year, before taking charge of Los Angeles Galaxy where he worked with Ireland record goalscorer Robbie Keane among others en route to three MLS Cup triumphs in 2011, 2012, 2014.
Arena had previously DC United to MLS Cups in 1996 and 1997 as well as victory in the 1996 US Open Cup and 1998 CONCACAF Champions League.
